As The People’s Champ, I have a proven track record of being the voice of the people on Charlotte City Council. I’ve consistently voted in favor of our communities — not special interests — and I hold everyone at the table accountable to the people we serve.
Now, I’m running for re-election to continue putting your priorities first and keeping leadership honest, transparent, and focused.
My Priorities
1. Affordable Housing Access
As a member on the Housing, Safety Community Committee- Housing should never be out of reach. I’ve stood with residents to push for fair, inclusive housing policies — and I’ll continue to:
- Support affordable and mixed-income developments
- Expand homeownership opportunities for working families
- Prioritize community voices in housing decisions
I’ve consistently voted with the people — because housing justice is community justice.
2. Transportation & Infrastructure
Fair & Functional CATS
I’ve advocated for authentic transit access that actually works for working people.
My advocacy includes:
- A more equitable, reliable, and rider-friendly transit system
- Advocated for service for underserved neighborhoods
- Advocating for funding that reflects our community’s needs-Championed the People's Budget-including
- Animal Shelter Improvements- Independent of CMPD.
Fixing Steele Creek Traffic
You’ve demanded solutions, and I’ve delivered:
- Advocacy for critical road improvements
- Advocated for our city departments leaders to respond & make you a priority- to prioritize congestion relief
- Advocated for community leaders to have access to Strategic planning to ease daily commutes and increase safety.
I hold city leadership accountable to fix what impacts the people daily.
3. Workforce Development & Public Safety
Empowering Our Communities & Echoing the Airport Workers voice through SEIU, the Union and strategic Partnerships.
I’ve fought & championed to increase opportunity for those historically left out by:
- Investing in job training and youth development programs
- Partnering with schools, local businesses, and nonprofits
- Uplifting communities through education and outreach. Championed Youth Town Halls. Led by our youth to keep their voices at the Dias.
- Community Engagement Town Halls
- The State of our District Townhall- At Good Sheperd Church.
Safer, Stronger Neighborhoods
- Advocated for community-first public safety policies
- Pushed for transparency in law enforcement
- Brought youth, leaders, and law enforcement to the same table- Youth Led Town Halls.
- I’ve used my seat to push for trust, transparency, and real community empowerment-to earn the name "The People's Champ.

I’ve hosted regular town halls (outside the box) and community events because real leadership listens — not just during campaign season.
